We have made the call to stop the Thursday night group ride for the rest of the year and start it back up in the spring. The main reason being regular freezing and thawing which is creating a soft, wet trail bed that can rut up with use. A lot of trail systems close until the ground freezes but you CAN ride when the conditions are right. I prefer to leave it up to the trail user to decide if the trail okay to ride of not.
From now till the big freeze, we are going to try and throw together rides as conditions allow so look out for emails.
Once the ground is frozen and the snow is flying we will be starting up weekly fat bike rides; any input now on days and times are welcome. We will also be working on a trail grooming strategy for single track in town to complement the Inn Nordic trails and expand our winter riding. This could mean organized snowshoe packing parties or possibly a mechanized solution.
