Our Mission

The Woodstock Area Mountain Bike Association’s mission is to build, maintain, and preserve trails for non-motorized public recreation in the Woodstock area. As a member-driven, local non-profit, our organization works with landowners, public officials, and other stakeholders to provide the community with enduring access to sustainable trail networks and collective opportunities to experience them. Through our efforts, we hope to enhance community health, promote economic development, and foster a lifelong passion among our trail users to protect and enjoy our regions’ magnificent natural landscapes.

Community Impact

  • We're Local

WAMBA has more than 350 annual members, mostly local residents and second homeowners, but also friends and visitors to our area. We are proud of our trails and want our home to be known across New England for the best riding.

  • Economic Development

Biking is one of many reasons that visitors are attracted to our community. But even our local riders generate economic impact on our area bike shops, restaurants, and other retail and lodging establishments. As WAMBA grows, we are finding ways to quantify the impact we’re having on Woodstock.

  • Youth Access

Family rides. Youth camps. Girls-only rides. WAMBA is committed to increasing access for all to the sport of mountain biking.

  • Not Just Bikes

Our trails are multi-purpose, inviting walkers, joggers, birders, skiers and all others to enjoy.

  • Environmental Stewards

All of our trails respect the sensitive ecosystems where we ride. We constantly monitor run-off and drainage and maintain compliance with Vermont’s Act 250.

  • Partners

We have negotiated access to more than 30 miles of private land trails through public-private partnerships and we are proud to partner with local businesses to promote outdoor recreation in Woodstock.
